Hansa Creation INC. was founded in 1972 by an industry veteran with many years of experience working for the American corporation Ideal Toys. Hans J. Axthelm wanted to create a product that would last 10 years or more. The company's flagship product, the Hansa Block Walker Wagon, was a huge success. It exceeded domestic sales by more than one million units.
This led to a change of heart for Toys That Teach. By 1989, Hansa Toys had ventured into the large-scale plush toy industry alone. Hans Axthelm (24/06/1942 - 12/11/2020) was an outstanding businessman who managed to create a unique brand of soft toys, which is now known all over the world. Competitors and colleagues in the industry admired his vision, innovative ideas and the diligence with which he approached the creation of his toys and the promotion of the brand.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that he managed to create such a unique brand and reach such a level of quality and realism of toys that throughout his life no competing brand could come close to the level of performance and popularity of HANSA soft toys!
